See How Our Clients Are Thriving!

I used to struggle with lower back pain, knee pain, and constant neck and shoulder soreness. My posture was previously slanted, but thanks to her classes, it has improved so much. Jasmine has introduced me to resistance and weights training, which has made a huge difference—I feel so much stronger and more flexible than before. For women over 40 like me, I can’t recommend Pilates and strength training enough. As our bodies change with age, especially with bone density and hormones, we’re more prone to aches and pains. Jasmine’s guidance has truly helped me manage all that!

I have trained with Jasmine for 2 years now. I can see significant improvements since day 1. With her patience and structured training. I was able to overcome fear of jumping, and have less neck pain during jogs, and even able to hang on a bar after recovering from frozen shoulders! I have also referred friends who benefited greatly from jasmine’s training as well!

Have been working with Jay since 2016. He’s very patient and of course humorous in his own cheesy way. Even when I suffered a major injury on my shoulder and collar bone, Jay was very willing to break the exercise down to the most basic and safest to help work me back towards normalcy . A good teacher with a good knowledge of what he’s teaching , and ever willing to explore more in order to help his student excel further

Jasmine from The Beacon Movement has helped me so much that my Plantar Fasciitis (>20 years) is NO LONGER giving me any issues (after just a few mths)! No pain, just gain from training with her! She's able to explain clearly why we do the exercises (I used to play sports, so it's important for me to know), and I love being on the Reformer & other machines! Mat work is also beneficial & helps me in strength and conditioning! Been training w Jasmine for more than a year now, not stopping anytime soon! 😊 #satisfiedclient

Ruthlynn is taking my mum on her second course of 10 private pilates lessons. Mum is happy to continue as Ruthlynn has paced it well and made it enjoyable. Though mum say she feels the same, I noticed she has not been complaining about the pain or tightness in her left knee. We encourage her to continue with pilates as an insurance to future health. At least she has found an instructor who can speak mandarin and she is comfortable with.

I’ve been training with Jasmine since last year and I must say I have experienced a visible improvement to my overall strength and flexibility. Even my friends have noticed a positive change in my overall physical and mental well-being and I have since recommended a few other friends to train with her. No one has had any regrets so far! That must say a lot. 🙂 On top of her wicked sense of humour which makes her lessons fun, interactive and warm, Jasmine also has an acute understanding of especially scoliosis conditions and works to help these students live well with the associated pains and physical imbalances. In all, I am glad I found Jasmine.

Is Private Training Right for You?

We understand the unique needs of women 40+, especially when it comes to maintaining strength and preventing injuries. Our private training combines Strength training and Plyometric exercises to build muscle and power, with complementary Pilates for flexibility and core stability.

1

I have joint pain—will these exercises be safe for me?

Our approach is joint-friendly. We use low-impact plyometric exercises that protect your joints, alongside controlled strength training and Pilates for added stability. Every exercise is chosen with safety in mind, so you can build strength without risking joint strain.

2

I haven’t worked out in years. Is this program suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Our program is designed to meet you at your current fitness level, whether you're new to exercise or experienced. We’ll start with movements that build strength safely, incorporating low-impact exercises and Pilates to support gradual progress.

3

How does this training help with bone health and joint safety?

Our Strength & Plyometrics training builds bone density, muscles strength and physical performance while Pilates supports joint stability through controlled movements. The combination of both is ideal for reducing the risk of osteoporosis and strengthening the muscles around your joints to keep them safe.

4

Why include Pilates with strength training and plyometrics?

Pilates complements high-intensity movements by strengthening your core, improving flexibility, and helping you maintain good posture. This supportive foundation reduces injury risk and allows you to perform strength and plyometric exercises more effectively.

5

How is this program different from regular gym workouts?

This program is specifically designed for women 40+ and addresses age-related changes like muscle loss, joint stability, and bone health. The combination of strength, plyometrics, and Pilates provides a balanced workout tailored to your unique needs, unlike traditional gym workouts that might not focus on these areas.

6

What if I have specific health concerns like back pain or knee issues?

We personalize every session to your individual needs. If you have concerns like back or knee issues, we’ll adapt exercises and focus on strengthening supporting muscles and using Pilates for safe, low-impact movement.

7

Why is it essential to do Strength Training after 40?

Strength training is essential to avoid the loss of muscle that comes at a steady dip from our mid-30s on. For women, it can accelerate during perimenopause where we can lose up to 10 percent of our appendicular muscle mass during that transition alone.
Lower muscle mass diminishes our functional ability, increases our risk for falls, and lowers our quality of life. Weaker muscles also make it harder to have the strength, power, and energy to perform aerobic exercise activities such as running and walking.

8

I run and walk. Do I still need plyometrics?

While running helps build bones, it’s far less effective than jumping, according to research. That’s because running creates mostly one-directional stress as you’re moving forward in the same plane. It’s too similar to the stress that your bones get when you walk and perform most daily tasks. Remember, your body adapts to the type of stress you generally put on it. So, if you want your bones to adapt to be stronger, they need novel stimulus too.
Likewise, plyometric exercise can help strengthen your tendons and ligaments as well as your muscles, so you can reduce your risk of injury.
